Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Cephalon Sync (the “Service”), operated by Christian Burke Ventures, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects and how we use it. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, our third-party authentication provider supplies us with your email address and an account identifier so we can create and recognize your account.
• Your tracking data. The progression you record in the app — item mastery statuses, notes you write, and daily/weekly activity and syndicate progress — is saved to your account so it persists across visits.

We do not currently use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not build behavioral profiles. Today the only cookies set are the essential session/authentication cookies required to keep you signed in. If this changes, we will update this policy first (see below).

How we use your information

We use your information solely to operate the Service: to authenticate you, to save and display your tracking data, and to maintain and secure the app. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not disclose it except with the service providers below who help us run the Service, or where required by law.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers to run the Service — for user authentication and account management, for hosting the database that stores your tracking data, and for hosting and delivering the application itself. Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy policy and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, and we work with providers that maintain their own security programs. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can clear individual entries at any time within the app. To delete your account and all associated tracking data, contact us at the address below. Account deletion removes your active data immediately. Residual backup copies are retained in accordance with our standard system backup schedule (typically within 30 days) before being permanently overwritten.

Your choices

You may request access to, or deletion of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. Because we store so little, most requests can be handled by deleting your account.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion of your personal information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise your right to know or delete, you or your authorized agent may email us at the address below.

European users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your information is the performance of our agreement to provide the Service to you (and your consent where applicable). You have the right to access, correct, export (portability), restrict, or delete your data, and to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because our providers may process data in the United States, your information may be transferred there; we rely on those providers’ safeguards for such transfers.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time — for example, as the Service or the way it is offered evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, aim to give notice within the app before they take effect.
